For What Is Love Without You

By Vincent

One day, a candle was formed in your image soft like wax…

The thread of life passed through you…

The warmth of his heart and suddenly

One end was lit,,,Slowly melting through the years in the heat of the flame…

And when you reach the end,,,

You will find God waiting for you,,,

To embrace you into His light…

For what is love without you?

Is it a quiet echo in the chambers of the heart?

Now with the angels in heaven,,,

Your absence settles like dusk across my being…

My days are long, stretched thin by silence,,,

And my nights, longer,,,

Threaded with memories

That rise and fall like waves I cannot ride…

Navigating the sands of my life,,,

I find no solid shore to walk

Each footprint I place

Is another washed out by the tide,,,

A trace of hope pulled back

Into the depths of the before-you…

For what is love without you?

I reach for moments

That vanish like mist at sunrise…

Your laughter, your voice,,,

The way you paused to listen when I spoke

As if time had no say…

Now time speaks loudly behind me

But only in your absence…

Still, I walk,,,

Still, I breathe…

For what is love without you?

Carrying your light in my creation

Where your warmth used to be…

If love is to say goodbye,,,

Then I have loved,,,

With every grain of my being…

And I will keep loving you,,,

Even in the letting go…

For what is love without you?

I’ll miss you…
